Kronberg has three other twin-towns: La Lavandou in France, Porto Reconate in Italy, and Ballenstedt in the former East Germany. They kept the link with Ballenstedt going even after German re-unification in 1989.
Kronberg invites the Mayors of their four twin towns to attend a big celebration of twinning before the Christmas Market starts. The market is made up of stalls from all the clubs and societies in Kronberg together with stalls from the four twin towns. Unlike most Christmas Markets in Germany, there are no commercial stall-holders, which gives the Kronberg Market a special character.
